Dan grew up in New Prague, Minnesota, and started playing hockey in third grade, continuing to play all the way through high school. Introduced to Red Bull Crashed Ice by his brother, Tyler, Dan competed in Saint Paul for the first time in 2012 and has been hooked ever since. Dan is married and has two boys and when he's not on the track enjoys snowboarding, snowmobiling and snow shoeing. During the summer months, Dan enjoys spending time wakeboarding, waterskiing and surfing. In the summer of 2014 he competed in - and won - the first-ever National Skate Cross League event, and has used it as preparation for Red Bull Crashed Ice.
