Registration FAQs

How do I register?
You can register by filling in the application form on redbullcrashedice.com. You will be notified via email once your registration is complete.

When do I have to register by?
This depends on the qualifier you are registering for. You can find a full list of qualifiers and registration dates above the application form on redbullcrashedice.com.

When will I know if I've been selected for the qualifier?
If you are successful you will be notified via email on the same email address that you provided during registration and you will then be asked to confirm your participation. You must reply to this email within 48 hours. Please note that you will only receive confirmation that you have been successful after the end of the registration period for your chosen qualifier.

How can I find out more about my qualifier?
Details of qualifier locations and start times will be provided by email.

Can I register for more than one event?
No. You can register for only one qualifier.

Can I register for a qualifier in a different country to my own?
Yes, but, in Russia, only Russians can register and compete in the qualifiers.

What is the 'lottery'?
This is the process used to select participants for a qualifier if the number of applicants registered exceeds a certain number – this is between 50 and 200, depending on the qualifier. Please note that in Canada all participants are determined by a lottery.

What is the format for the qualifiers?
In most cases, competitors will participate on a flat course with obstacles. Each competitor has two attempts and the fastest competitors make the cut. Qualifiers will also take place on permanent ice cross downhill tracks, for example at the Serena Ski Resort in Finland.

How many people advance from each qualifier?
The number of winners varies depending on the qualifier, but is usually between 2 and 20.

Which World Championship event will successful athletes qualify for?
For qualifiers in the USA, Canada, Finland and Northern Ireland, winners will advance to the Red Bull Crashed Ice event in the same country. See redbullcrashedice.com for the locations and dates of the four World Championship events. For qualifiers in countries that are not hosting a World Championship event, successful athletes will be allocated a place at one of the four stops. In the case of Russia, qualified athletes will advance to the second World Championship event in Helsinki, Finland.

Can women also register?
Yes. Women are able to register for all qualifiers but will have to compete with men during the try-out. In addition, Canada will be hosting separate qualifiers for women; upon registering, up to 20 women will be selected for each qualifier in Canada, with the fastest female athlete from each advancing to the women's race at the Red Bull Crashed Ice finale in Edmonton.
