Finland played host to the second Red Bull Crashed Ice of the year.
Athletes skate during the finals of Red Bull Crashed Ice, the Ice Cross Downhill World Championship, in Espoo, Finland, on February 1, 2014.
Intro

The world's best downhill skaters battled on the frozen northern rim of Europe on a natural ice cross downhill track.

Returning to the Serena ski resort for the second year in a row, Red Bull Crashed Ice delivered another spectacular and action-packed competition on one of the world's first and most exciting permanent ice tracks. After Marco Dallago's 2014 victory that ushered in the world championship title for the Austrian, 2015 also proved a first for Scott Croxall as he claimed his debut success in ice cross downhill competition.

Finland is also the home of some of the world's best ice cross downhill racers such as Miikka Jouhkimainen, Paavo Klintrup, and the recently-retired Arttu Pihlainen. The sport is hugely popular in a country that loves speed and athletes who push themselves to the limit. The race brought the international elite and winners from national qualifiers onto the track to battle four-at-a-time at speeds of up to 60kph.

The race in Finland was streamed live on redbullcrashedice.com and Red Bull TV. For viewers in the US the race will air first and exclusively on FOX Sports 1 on Monday, March 2, at 7.30pm ET.
