Myriam Trepanier began competing at Red Bull Crashed Ice in 2014, finishing 4th in her first event in St. Paul. Originally from St-Michel-de-Bellechasse, a small community near Quebec City, she started playing hockey at the age of 6 to follow in her big brother's footsteps, and has competed in the Canada Games on two occasions: winter 2003 (women's hockey) and summer 2005 (fastpitch softball).

In 2005, Myriam moved to Minnesota to pursue her education, learn English, and play NCAA DI women's hockey at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Her college hockey team won the national title in 2008 and she earned a spot on the Frozen Four all-tournament team as a defenseman.Having graduated with a degree in Health Education and a Master's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, she now works in that field and lives in Minneapolis, MN.

Ice cross downhill combines two of Myriam's biggest passions - skating and skiing - making it a perfect match for the 2015/16 Quebec City winner. "It's an addicting thrill to go down the track", she says, "Ever since I stepped foot on the ice for my first qualifier, this sport has never let me down".

For any new riders starting out in the sport, Myriam has this advice: "Skate hard, have fun and don't ever give up!"
