THE RIDERS CUP COMPETITION
The Riders Cup competition is designed to make the sport of ice cross downhill more accessible to even more athletes worldwide. It doubles the number of events this year to eight, with athletes also able to earn World Championship points at the four additional events. Those participating in the four Riders Cup events, which were added by popular demand, will be able to earn up to 25 percent of the points awarded at the four major Red Bull Crashed Ice stops. Competitors from more than 15 different nations train year-round. Athletes from a variety of different sporting backgrounds – everything from downhill skiing to mountain-biking – compete in ice cross downhill competitions, such as Red Bull Crashed Ice events and Riders Cup competitions.

ABOUT THE RIDERS CUP EVENTS
Riders Cup Afton Alps/Hastings, MN (USA)
Local hero Cameron Naasz won the Riders Cup premiere race in Afton Alps on January 18, setting the stage for the Red Bull Crashed Ice season opener in Saint Paul. American Naasz went down in history as the first winner of a Riders Cup race in the sport of ice cross downhill. The 25-year-old from St Cloud, MN, triumphed in the final against a trio of Canadians – Dean and Dylan Moriarity as well as Kyle Croxall in the first race of the season.
Riders Cup Wagrain-Kleinarl (AUT)
The second Riders Cup stop of the 2015 Ice Cross Downhill World Championship season was won by defending world champion Marco Dallago in his native Austria. Not only did Dallago and his team create a perfect 300-metre-long downhill ice track but he also managed to attract 140 of the world's top competitors from 14 nations, a field that included four former world champions, to Austria's Alpine winter sports resort of Wagrain-Kleinarl.
Riders Cup Jyväskylä (FIN)
At the third of four Riders Cup stops, organised by Finland's former world champion Arttu Pihlainen in his hometown, Canada made a clean sweep, with William Dutton joining winner Scott Croxall and his brother, Kyle, on the podium. Local skater Toni Heikkilä was fourth. 107 of the world's best international and national ice cross downhill athletes, from 15 nations, took part in the competition that was watched by some 3,000 spectators.
Riders Cup Sherbrooke, QC (CAN)
The event will be taking place at Mont Bellevue. Registration will be open at riderscup.ca from December 12, 2014 (6am EST) until March 3, 2015 (7pm EST).
