New video series Four Below Zero will follow the fortunes of the top athletes in Red Bull Crashed Ice as they carve out a name for themselves in the fastest sport on skates, ice cross downhill.
Science versus intensity versus quickness... Gone are the days when guys could simply show up, skate hard and hope to win a stop of Red Bull Crashed Ice. Today's best ice cross downhill riders combine the conditioning of a hockey player, the agility of an Alpine skier and the bump and grind strategy of a NASCAR driver. Speed, endurance, and intensity are all essential parts, but the path to the kind of fitness needed to contend for the win is different depending on the athlete. Champion Marco Dallago in Graz, Austria, Cameron Naasz, in Minnesota, USA, and Scott Croxall in Ontario, Canada, have all taken different routes to the start gate. In this episode we go inside the training needed to contend with, and hopefully beat, the best in the world – and the five steps to glory!

Stay tuned for the next episode in the five-part video series, dropping Friday, January 16, on redbullcrashedice.com.
