Northern Ireland welcomed the top ice cross downhill riders for the first time in Red Bull Crashed Ice history on February 19-21.
The capital city of Northern Ireland witnessed the best in ice cross downhill action. Competitors battled it out on the ice track filled with bumps, jumps, and sharp turns – all under the captivated gaze of a sell-out crowd of 24,000 spectators.
The Red Bull Crashed Ice track began in front of the dazzling white facade of the Parliament Buildings at Stormont, one of Belfast's most iconic buildings. The track building was one that had never been seen before – almost completely linear, forcing the competitors to face every single obstacle with a regular rhythm. At mid-course, the skaters passed across a massive bridge next to the 12-feet Lord Carson statue before their final sprint to the finish line.
