Ripping up the musical map of their native Nashville, Five Knives redefine electro by merging beats with the ceaseless energy of a live band.
Described as a mix of M.I.A. and Nine Inch Nails, frontwoman Anna Worstell, keyboardists and programmers Nathan Barlowe and Zach Hall and drummer Shane Wise are upping the BPM, grinding heavy synth riffs into a catchy sound that's rooted in both old-school punk and new-school electronica.
"Our sound's kind of schizophrenic – it's a mix of electronic and dance and rock and pop and hip-hop and punk," says Worstell, whose band mine inspiration from influences such as The Ramones and New Order.
After the release of debut EP The Rising in February 2013, Five Knives are now working on their first full-length album.
